Born in Veerava nallur, Thirunelveli District studied in Chennai, Hyderabad and Ph.D in Pondicherry University, now residing in Puducherry. He was the former Director of Institut pur etudes Indo-Europeennes. He has the proficiency in the following languages : Portuguese, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, English and Thamizh.
